At first I didn't know what I wanted ti do for my final project. I'm not really good at thinking of ideas on the spot. I usually come up with my best ideas when I am just sitting around doing nothing. Everyday I would come in and try to think of a cool project to do, but I had no ideas. But then Mr. Willhauer started asking me questions to get my mind moving. He asked me what my hobbies were. I said video games. It then popped in my head that I need to make some sort of project that has to do with video games.

After I put together the basic shell, I then made the bottom marquee. I measured the distance between the base and the top of the square edge on the front of the shell. It is different from the normal edge because the outside shell is not resting on the base. The bottom marquee is cut and ready to move on to the next part.

I put the final layout into illustrator so I could engrave it onto my control panel piece. I did this to make it easier for me when I go to drill the holes out.
After the machine got done engraving the layout, I went into the woods lab and used the drill press to cut out the holes for the buttons and joystick. I then put in the buttons and joystick to make sure they fit perfectly. I did not like the edge of the control panel because it is a sharp edge. I took it to the router and routed the edge.

I hooked up all of the buttons and joystick together and installed the control panel. I moved onto finishing the project by hooking up all the buttons and joysticks to the Raspberry Pi. I hooked up the screen and turned it on and it worked. I had to figure some things out like how to exit the game and the sound was not working. All I had to do was go through the settings and change some things to make all the problems go away.

I really like this class. It has to be one of my favorite classes ever. I really enjoyed being able to choose what I want to do for my final project because it pushed me to think outside the box and do something different. Do something difficult and mind blowing. I learned that it is better to start things early instead of later because I was on a time crunch for this project.

I learned that things are a lot harder to do than you think they will be. I thought this was going to be a really easy project and it wasn't. It took me some time to research everything I needed, time to design the parts, and then assemble all the different pieces. I had to wait on things to be shipped in like the keyboard and the cord to connect the monitor to the Raspberry Pi.
